Being an Entrepreneur is Being a Leader

Did any of you catch the last episode of The Apprentice?

We are down to the season finally and it is getting exciting to see who the real leader is. This last task is the make them or break them task.

In last years Apprentice this is where a really strong candidate lost it. The other person stepped up like never before and became The Apprentice. This person was Kendra.

Just the other day I was in the bookstore and I saw a book now published that Kendra authored. This is phenomenal considering that no one every heard of her before she came onto the show The Apprentice.

I love this show because there is so much to learn. So lets look at the last episode of this season.

Sean and Lee were the two finalist. The reason they made it was because of their leadership. Both of these gentlemen are great leaders and inspire their team to work hard for them. This made it a difficult decision for Donald Trump.

They were given a very challenging task of setting up 2 large events in a very short period of time. Both of them did well.

However I did better than the other. Want to know why?

Sean excelled because he chose a team based on skill sets and attitude. He had a true winning team with real go getters. Lee on the other hand picked his friend Lenny which wasn’t all bad however he let Lenny pick Pepe!

Who the heck is Pepe? He was fired in week 2 of the process.

Second he picked Roxanne who is great a pointing out problems but poor at coming up with solutions. There would have been many different candidates that would have been far better to choose from.

As an Entrepreneur you must have a solid team behind you. If you choose a poor team you will not achieve the results you expect. Entrepreneurs must be leaders and as leaders you should listen to your team and make the final decision based on the information you have.

Sometimes it’s not easy being the leader and having to make the decisions. But that’s what it takes to succeed.

Because Sean picked such a good team his job was much easier and came together much better…and this is why he won!

Again both candidates were good but one was just that much better. That small difference between Entrepreneurs can be millions of dollars.
