Entrepreneurs Do Not Require Job Security

As an Entrepreneur you can never be fired unless you decide to fire yourself. Most people hang onto a job security because they believe that without it they will perish.

Yesterday’s Non Sequitur comic demonstrates what job security is really all about. The person in the comic who is being let go because of budget priorities has no job security and never did. In fact this cartoon points out that a fancy office and personal assistants are valued higher than a contributing employee.

Some of you may be thinking but surely a contributing employee is valued more than executive perks.

When I worked in Corporate America as a manager I found out what happens. Executives look out for the bottom line, and their bonuses before anything else. Most executives say they care about you to give you that false sense of security and the minute their bonus is in jeopardy, the budget is scrutinized and budget cuts start.
